1. Loosen the mounting bolts and remove the engine crankcase guard. Drain the oil from the engine (see "Changing engine oil and oil filter").
2. Unscrew the three mounting bolts and remove the lower shield of the clutch housing.
3. Unscrew the sixteen crankcase mounting bolts and remove the crankcase, carefully separating it from the cylinder block with a screwdriver.
4. Remove the crankcase gasket.

5. Install the crankcase in the reverse order of removal. Before installation, for ease of installation, "glue" the gasket to the crankcase with consistent grease. Pour oil into the engine crankcase.
