Removal and installation
Open the door all the way, unscrew the screws securing the eye of the limiter 3 (pic. 181) opening the door to the front pillar and bolts 2 fastening hinges 1 (the assistant must support the door). Take down the door.
The door is installed in reverse order. Before the final tightening of the hinge bolts 1, the uniformity of the gaps between the door and the body is checked and adjusted due to the enlarged holes in the hinges.
Disassembly and assembly of the front door
Removing the front door trim (see sect. «Removal and installation of an upholstery of a forward door»), the door mirror adjustment knob and the mirror by removing the fixing screws. Use the window lifter handle to lower the glass all the way down, remove the lower seals of the sliding glass from the door. Unscrew the fastening screws and remove the guide grooves of the sliding glass down and take it out through the top. Unscrew the seven nuts securing the power window to the door panel, remove the washers from the studs and remove the power window.
Turn out button 1 (see fig. 170) lock, take out the bracket 3 of the fastening of the external lock drive and the drive itself. Remove two screws securing the bracket 16 of the inner handle and three screws 3 (pic. 182) fastening the lock, disconnect the lock switch rod and remove the lock assembly with the rod 2 and the rod of the lock lock button 1. If necessary, unscrew the fastening screws and remove the door opening limiter.
The assembly of the door is carried out in the reverse order. Before assembly, lubricate the moving parts of the window regulator and the door lock with CIATIM-201 grease. After assembly, check the operation of the locks and the power window.
Front door lock adjustment
Before adjustment outline the contours of the latch 9 (see fig. 170) lock on the body pillar. If the door closes too tightly, loosen the fixing screws of the latch 9, move it outward and tighten the screws. If the door closes weakly, the latch is shifted inward. In this case, there should not be a recession or protrusion of the door relative to the body. If the door rises when closed (sag in open position), the latch is lowered.
If the lock does not open well with the inner handle 17, then adjust the position of the bracket 16 as an assembly with the handle. To do this, loosen the screws securing the bracket and move it to the desired position. Check the action of the lock and tighten the screws.
