Removing the door
Remove the brush, disconnect the electrical wires and the glass washer tube, open the door to failure and unscrew the fingers of the stops 2 (see fig. 172) from threaded holes (while the assistant must support the door). Remove stops.
Remove the upper part of the door opening seal and the roof trim brackets from the door opening flange. Remove the rear edge of the PVC roof lining from the door opening flange. While holding the door, unscrew the bolts securing the fixed links of the hinges 6 to the body and remove the door assembly.
With one-piece molded roof upholstery, access to the hinge bolts in the upholstery has holes closed with plugs, and removal of the upholstery and door seal is not required.
Installation
Installing the door is done in reverse order. If necessary, adjust the position of the door in the opening of the body, for which the bolts of the fixed links of the hinges are loosened and, due to the enlarged holes in the body or the installation of shims under the fixed links, the gap between the door and the body along the perimeter is adjusted so that it is uniform. At the end of the adjustment, tighten the mounting bolts.
If the tailgate closes too tightly, loosen the fasteners of the lock body and the lock retainer and, due to the enlarged holes in them, move them in the right direction. Before adjustment, it is recommended to outline the contours of the lock body and latch. At the end of the adjustment, tighten the mounting bolts.
