Windscreen wiper and washer (VAZ-1111)

Windscreen wiper type 45.5205 consists of a gear motor (electric motor with gearbox), lever drive and a lever with a brush. The circuit diagram for connecting the windshield wiper and washer is shown in Figure 163. The wiper has two operating modes: continuous and intermittent, which is provided by a relay of the RS-514 type. To protect the gear motor from overloads when the brush freezes to the glass or when there is high resistance to its movement, a reusable thermal bimetallic fuse is installed in the wiper.

The washer pump is combined into one unit with an electric motor and is installed in the engine compartment next to the washer reservoir. The pump electric motor is activated by the right lever of the three-lever switch when it is pulled towards you.
