The wiper consists of a motor-reducer with rods and two levers with brushes. The supply voltage is supplied to the electric motor of the motor-reducer through an additional relay when the ignition is switched on. To protect the motor-reducer from overloads, a bimetallic fuse is built into its internal circuit. The right steering column switch controls the operation of the windshield wiper.
To supply washer fluid to the windshield, two washer nozzles are installed in the air intake grille. The liquid is supplied to them through an elastic tube from the washer reservoir, mounted on the left mudguard of the engine compartment, by an electric pump. The pump is installed on the wall of the windshield washer reservoir. The washer fluid reservoir also has a low washer fluid level sensor.
Recommendation. In the washer reservoir in winter, it is necessary to fill in a special anti-freeze liquid (antifreeze).
The windshield wiper and windshield washer are switched on by the right steering column switch.
Rear window wiper installed on tailgate (cars VAZ 2111 with a station wagon and VAZ 2112 with a hatchback body), and consists of a gear motor and a lever with a brush. To supply washer fluid to the rear window, a nozzle is installed above the rear door. The liquid to the nozzle is supplied from the washer reservoir, mounted on the right mudguard of the engine compartment, by an electric pump. The pump is installed on the wall of the washer reservoir. The tank is attached to the body with a rubber strap. Removing the wiper is shown when disassembling the tailgate.
