The scheme of connections of a cleaner and a washer of back glass is shown in fig. 164. The cleaner is turned on by a key switch located on the instrument panel on the left side of the steering column. When the key is in the middle position, only the cleaner is turned on, and when the key is fully pressed (position is not fixed) The rear window washer also comes on.
Pic. 164. Scheme of switching on the cleaner, washer and rear window heating element: 1 - fuse block; 2 — the switch of a cleaner and a washer of back glass; 3 - rear window washer motor; 4 — the electric motor of a cleaner of back glass; 5 - rear window heating element; 6 - relay for turning on the heating of the rear window; 7 - rear window heating switch; 8 - ignition switch.
The design of the cleaner's gearmotor allows it to be disassembled to eliminate minor malfunctions (collector cleaning, etc.). The disassembly and assembly methods are the same as those described above for the windshield wiper gearmotor. At the rear window cleaner with a gearmotor load of 0.49 Nm, a supply voltage of 14 V and an ambient temperature (25±10) °С, the number of double strokes of the gearmotor shaft in 1 min should be 50±5, and the current consumption should not exceed 2 A.
Rear window heating
Heated rear windows can be installed on some vehicles. The heating element is switched on by means of an auxiliary relay 6 installed under the instrument panel on the left side. The characteristic of the relay is given in the subsection «Lighting and signaling».
Cigarette lighter
The cigarette lighter type 11.3725 has protection against prolonged (over 30 s) turning on the heating element. Protection is provided by a fusible washer attached to the insulator on the back of the cigarette lighter. When overheated, the washer melts and closes to «mass» central contact of the cigarette lighter. As a result, fuse No. 10 blows, and the cigarette lighter turns off.
To restore the cigarette lighter to work, it is necessary to eliminate the cause of the long inclusion, disassemble it, remove the remains of the melted washer and install a new safety washer.
