If the pedals are difficult to move, inspect the working surfaces of the pedals, bushings and axle.

If shallow scratches or traces of oxidation are found on the surfaces of metal parts, wipe them with fine-grained sandpaper; replace non-metallic parts with new ones at each disassembly.

Check the elasticity of the springs. The length of the brake pedal spring should be: under a force of 13±2 N (1.3±0.2 kgf) - 80 mm, under a force of 120±6 N (12±0.6 kgf) - 160 mm.

The clutch pedal release spring has a length of:
  • under force 33+4–2 H (3.3+0,4–0,2 kgf) – 130 mm
  • under force 46+4,5–2,5 H (4.6+0,45–0,25 kgf) – 155 mm

The length of the clutch servo spring under a force of 200±20 N (20.4±2 kgf) should be 120 mm, under a force of 599±60 N (59.9±6 kgf) – 152 mm.
