Clutch and brake pedal bracket parts
1 - bracket; 2 - nut; 3 - spring washer; 4 – the internal plug of a pedal of a brake; 5 - outer bushings of the brake pedal; 6 – brake pedal; 7 - remote bushing; 8 - retraction spring of the brake pedal; 9 - outer bushings of the clutch pedal; 10 - hook; 11 - cap; 12 - screw limiting travel of the clutch pedal; 13 - nut; 14 – servo spring; 15 - the inner sleeve of the clutch pedal; 16 - plate; 17 - clutch pedal return spring; 18 - washer; 19 - pedal pads; 20 - bolt; 21 - clutch pedal; 22 - cotter pin; 23 – a pusher of a pedal of coupling; 24 - finger; 25 – a pusher of the vacuum booster; 26 - locking bracket
Pedals 6 and 21 are suspended on the bracket 1 with the help of an axle made in the form of a bolt 20. The axle is fixed in the holes of the cheeks of the bracket. On the axis between the cheeks of the bracket and the distance sleeve 7, the inner sleeves 4 and 15 of the clutch and brake pedals are clamped. Pedals are pivotally mounted on these bushings, in the hubs of which outer bushings 5 and 9 are pressed in. Pushers 23 and 25 are pivotally attached to both pedals, acting on the pistons of the hydraulic cylinder of the clutch drive and the vacuum booster. The reverse travel of the clutch pedal is limited by the buffer 11 mounted on the head of the bolt 12. The vacuum brake booster and the master cylinder of the clutch release drive are attached to the bracket plate.
Attention! Use tool A.70017 to remove and install springs.
Removing
1. To remove the pedal bracket, remove the steering shaft bracket as directed in subsection 7.3.1.
2. Disconnect the pusher of the vacuum booster from the brake pedal by removing the retaining clip 26 and removing the pin 24.
3. Remove the nuts securing the vacuum booster and clutch master cylinder to the bracket.
4. Unscrew the nuts securing the bracket to the body and remove the bracket by disconnecting the wires from the brake light switch off.
Installation
1. Install in reverse order.
2. Make sure that the pusher is installed correctly in the socket on the piston of the clutch master cylinder.
Disassembly
1. For disassembly, remove the spring 14 of the clutch pedal servo.
2. Remove release springs 8 and 17.
3. Unscrew the nut 2 bolts 20.
4. Take out a bolt and remove pedals together with plugs.
Assembly
1. Reassemble in reverse order.
2. Lubricate with LITOL-24 grease the pedal bushings, the ends of the springs, the junctions of the pushers with the pedals and the end of the pusher that has contact with the piston of the clutch master cylinder.
Check and repair
1. If the pedals are hard to move, inspect the working surfaces of the pedals, bushings and axles.
2. If shallow scratches or traces of oxidation are found on the surfaces of metal parts, wipe them with a fine-grained sandpaper.
3. Replace worn outer plastic pedal bushings with new ones.
4. Check the elasticity of the springs. The length of the brake pedal spring must be under a force of 12.7±1.96 N (1.3±0.2 kgf) – 80 mm, under force 117.6±5.9 N (12±0.6 kgf) - 160 mm.
5. The release spring of the clutch pedal has a length under force of 32.3±3.9–1.9 N (3.3±0.4–0.2 kgf) – 130 mm, under force 45±4.4–2.4 N (4.6±0.45–0.25 kgf) - 155 mm. Clutch servo spring length under force 200±19.6 N (20.4±2 kgf) should be 120 mm, under a force of 586±58.8 N (59.9±6 kgf) - 152 mm.
