Checking the tightness of the cylinder head using tool A.60334
1, 2, 4 - plugs; 3 - fixture plate; 5 - flange with water supply fitting
1. For a hydraulic leak test of the cylinder head cooling jacket:
- install on the head the parts included in the kit A.60334;
- pump water inside the head at a pressure of 0.5 MPa (5 kgf/cm2).
2. Within 2 minutes, there should be no leakage of water from the head. If cracks are found, the cylinder head must be replaced.
3. You can check the tightness of the cylinder head with compressed air, for which:
- install on the cylinder head the parts included in the kit A.60334;
- lower the cylinder head into a bath of water heated to 60–80°C, and let the cylinder head warm up for 5 minutes;
- supply compressed air inside the cylinder head at a pressure of 0.15–0.2 MPa (1.5–2 kgf/cm2).
4. Within 1–1.5 minutes, air etching from the head should not be observed.
