Pressing out the axle shaft using puller 67.7801.9516
1 – half shaft; 2 – impact puller
Disassembly
1. Remove the brake system pipe with tee from the bridge, disconnecting the ends of the pipes from the brake wheel cylinders.
2. Place the bridge on a repair stand and drain the oil from the crankcase.
3. After removing the brake drum and unscrewing the brake shield mounting nuts, use puller 2 to remove axle shaft 1, complete with the oil deflector, axle shaft bearing mounting plate, bearing and locking ring. Remove the brake shield and sealing ring. If replacement is necessary, remove the oil seal from the axle beam flange.
4. Perform the same operations on the other end of the beam, then remove the gearbox.
Assembly
1. Assemble the rear axle in the reverse order of disassembly. In this case:
- lubricate the threads of the gearbox mounting bolts with sealant, having first degreased their threaded holes in the rear axle beam;
- before installation, coat the axle shaft bearing seal with LITOL-24 grease;
- when installing the seal into the beam flange, use the A.70157 mandrel;
- lubricate the axle shaft flange seating belt under the brake drum and the axle shaft flange surface in contact with the drum with graphite grease or LSC-15 grease.
2. Install the brake drums after installing the rear axle on the vehicle and securing the cable ends to the parking brake drive levers.
