Removal
1. Prepare the car for work (see "Preparing a car for maintenance and repair").
2. Disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery (see "Battery - Removal and Installation").
3. Remove the distributor cap (see "Distributor Cap and Rotor - Check and Replace").
4. Mark the position of the outer contact of the runner and the distributor housing.

5. Remove the vacuum supply hose from the vacuum regulator fitting.

6. Key by 13 mm we unscrew the nut that secures the distributor to the cylinder block.

7. Remove the locking plate.

8. Remove the distributor from the hole in the cylinder block.

9. Key by 7 mm we unscrew the nut securing the low-voltage wire connecting the distributor to the coil terminal.

10. Remove the sealing gasket.

Installation
1. Install the ignition distributor in the reverse order. In this case, orient the outer contact of the runner and the housing according to the previously applied marks.
2. Check and adjust the ignition timing angle (see "Ignition timing - checking and adjustment") and the angle of the closed state of the contacts (see "Angle of the closed state of the breaker contacts - checking and adjustment").
Note: If the position of the distributor runner is unknown, set the piston in the first cylinder to the BMT of the end of the compression stroke. To do this, remove the spark plug of the first cylinder. After closing the hole with a paper plug, rotate the crankshaft. With sufficient compression in the cylinder, the air will push the paper plug out of the hole. Further rotating the crankshaft, set the top dead center of the cylinder, aligning the marks on the pulley and the cover of the timing mechanism drive (see Fig. "Ignition timing - checking and adjustment"). In this position of the crankshaft, we install the distributor, orienting the direction of the outer contact of the runner towards the side electrode of the distributor cap under number one. In this case, the line, conditionally passing through the spring latches of the distributor cap, should be directed at an angle of 30-40° to the engine axis. We perform the necessary adjustments.
