Engine ignition module 2112 (1.5i) — checking, removal and installation (VAZ-2110)

To perform repair work on checking the ignition module on a car with an injection engine 2112 (1.5i), you will need: a multimeter (in voltmeter mode).

Examination



1. We are preparing the vehicle for repair work (see points 1 and 2 "Preparing a car for maintenance and repair"), turn off the ignition.

2. Remove the decorative engine cover (see "Engine trim - removal and installation").

3. Disconnect the tips of the high-voltage wires from the module (see point 4 "High-voltage spark plug wires of the VAZ 2112 engine (1.5i) - removal, installation and replacement").

4. After releasing the lock (1), disconnect the wire connector from the module.

5. After turning on the ignition, use a voltmeter to measure the voltage between terminals C and D of the wiring harness connectors.

Note. The voltage must be at least 12 V. If the voltage does not reach the connector or is less than 12 V, then the battery is discharged, the power supply circuit is faulty, or the ECU is faulty. You can verify that the ignition module is faulty by replacing it with a known good one.

Installation



We install all removed parts on the car in the reverse order of removal.

We connect the high-voltage spark plug wires to the ignition module in accordance with the cylinder numbers printed on each wire and on the ignition module body next to the terminals.
