Examination
1. We prepare the car for repair work (see points 1 and 2 "Preparing the car for maintenance and repair"), turn off the ignition.
2. Remove the engine trim (see "Decorative overlay of the engine - removal and installation").
3. Disconnect the tips of high-voltage wires from the module (see point 4 "High-voltage wires of spark plugs of the VAZ 2112 engine (1,5i) - removal, installation and replacement").
4. Releasing the latch (1), disconnect the wire connector from the module.
5. Turning on the ignition, use a voltmeter to measure the voltage between terminals C and D of the wiring harness connectors.
Note. The voltage must be at least 12 V. If the voltage is not supplied to the connector or it is less than 12 V, then the battery is discharged, the power circuit is faulty or the computer is faulty. You can verify that the ignition module is faulty by replacing it with a known good one.
Removing
6. With the ignition off, use a 10 mm socket wrench with a deep head to unscrew the three nuts securing the ignition module.
7. Remove the ignition module from the studs.
Installation
We install on the car all the removed parts in the reverse order of removal.
We connect the high-voltage wires of the spark plugs to the ignition module in accordance with the cylinder numbers printed on each wire and on the ignition module housing next to the terminals.
