Carburetor starting device

You can check and adjust the amount of air damper opening on the vehicle by removing the air filter cover (shown with the carburetor removed).
We unscrew the plug of the starting device. There is an adjustment screw under the plug.
By pressing the three-arm lever (if the car has a carburetor, then pulling out the choke handle), we close the air damper completely and push the rod into the body of the starting device until it stops.
Using a 5.5 mm drill, we check the size of the gap between the lower edge of the air damper and the wall of the chamber.
Using a thin screwdriver, turn the adjusting screw to change the gap size. To decrease, tighten the screw; to increase, loosen it.
After adjustment, we install the starting device plug back in place.
Holding the air damper in the fully closed position by the three-arm lever, use a drill with a diameter of 0.9–1.0 mm (wire from a small paper clip will do) we check the gap between the throttle valve and the chamber wall in the area of the transient mode holes.
