Electric motors for engine cooling system fans (VAZ-2108)

To drive the engine cooling system fan, domestically produced electric motors of the ME272 type or Yugoslavian production are installed. These are direct current electric motors with excitation from permanent magnets. The electric motor connection diagram is shown in Figure 153. The electric motor is switched on by sensor 2 using auxiliary relay 5. The sensor is screwed into the right radiator tank. The sensor contact closing temperature is (99±3)°C, and opening temperature is (94±3)°C.

Auxiliary relay 113.3747 is installed in the mounting block. Its characteristics are given in section. "Lighting and light signaling". Electric motors do not require maintenance and should be replaced with new ones in case of failure. Brief technical characteristics of the electric motor:

Nominal shaft speed when the electric motor is loaded with an impeller, rpm — 2600±200
Current consumption at the specified load and rotation speed, A, no more than - 14
