The washer consists of a reservoir with liquid, a pump with an electric motor, combined into one unit, solenoid valves and pipelines with jets. Windshield washer fluid supply line blocked by solenoid valve 3 (see fig. 150), fluid supply to the headlights - valve 2 (see fig. 151) and to the rear window - by valve 4. When one of the windows washer is turned on, voltage is applied to the corresponding valve and it opens the fluid supply in the required direction.
There is a time relay in the rear window washer switching circuit 6 (see fig. 151) type 45.3747. It delays the rear window washer off for 5 seconds.
The solenoid valve should operate at a control voltage of not more than 8.5 V. In case of interruptions in the operation of the valve, check whether the valve armature is stuck, and also check the resistance of the winding, which should be (95±6 ohm at 25°C.
If it differs from the nominal, replace the valve with a new one.
