Fuel pump: 1 - pump discharge pipe; 2 - fuel pump; 3 - pump suction pipe
Before you begin: disconnect the wire from the "–" terminal of the battery.
Note: After replacing the pump gasket or spacer, adjust the amount of tappet protrusion.
1. Loosen the clamp and disconnect the fuel supply hose to the fuel pump.
2. Loosen the clamp and disconnect the fuel supply hose from the fuel pump to the carburetor.
3. Unscrew the two fuel pump mounting nuts.
4. Carefully (so as not to damage the gasket) remove the fuel pump.

5. Install the pump in the reverse order of removal. There is an arrow on the fuel pump body indicating the direction of fuel flow. It should be directed towards the carburetor.
