Attention! Idle speed adjustment is carried out on a warm engine (coolant temperature 90–95°C) with adjusted clearances in the valve drive and correctly set ignition timing. The air damper must be fully open.
Attention! Since the adjustment of the idle speed and the content of carbon monoxide (SO) in the exhaust gases they are produced together, and a gas analyzer is needed to adjust the CO content, it is recommended that these operations be performed at a service station.
Note. When adjusting the CO, the crankshaft speed changes somewhat, and accordingly, when the crankshaft speed is adjusted, the CO content changes somewhat.
1. Start the engine. By turning the mixture amount screw sensor, set the engine speed within 750–800 min-1.
2. Then check and, if necessary, adjust the CO content. Adjustment is made by quality screw (composition) mixture, closed with a disposable plastic plug. It can be removed, for example, with a corkscrew.
3. Consistently check and ensure that the idling speed of the crankshaft and the CO content in the exhaust gases are in accordance with the standards.
