Steering column tilt mechanism — adjustment (VAZ-2110)

To perform work on adjusting the tilt of the steering column on a VAZ 2110 car, you will need pliers to remove the retaining rings.

Procedure

1. Remove the decorative steering column trims (see "Decorative steering column trims - removal and installation").

2. If the lever was lowered, move it to the upper position.

3. Using pliers, remove the retaining ring from the steering column tilt adjustment mechanism bolt.



4. Move the steering column adjustment lever to the left side and remove it from the bolt.

5. Move the lever one slot clockwise.

6. Check the reliability of the steering column fixation with the lever.

7. In its upper position, the lever should be parallel to the steering column.



8. If further adjustment of the steering column is not required, fix the lever with a locking ring. Otherwise, move the steering column lever one more spline clockwise and check the adjustment again.

9. Install the steering column pads and all removed parts on the vehicle in the reverse order of removal.
