Installation
1. Before installing new steering rods, make sure that their threaded inserts are wrapped in rods and tips for the same number of threads.
2. For the removed steering rods, we measure the distances between the holes of the silent blocks of their fastening to the steering mechanism (1) and the centers of the plugs of the holes for the ball pins in the tie rod ends (2).
3. By rotating the threaded insert, we select the length of the new tie rods in accordance with the length of the removed tie rods, after which we tighten the coupling bolts of the tie rods and the tie rod end.
4. We install and connect the steering rods in the following sequence: we fix the inner ends of the steering rods on the steering mechanism by screwing on the bolts of their fastening.
5. We insert the fingers of the ball joints of the steering rods into the holes of the swivel arms of the racks, tighten and split the nuts of their fastening.
6. We install the car on wheels.
7. We tighten the bolts of the steering rods to the steering mechanism with a torque of 70-86 N·m (7.2-8.6 kgf·m).
