The permitted maximum weight is the mass of the unladen vehicle plus the mass of the driver, passengers and cargo, as determined by the manufacturer. This is a technical characteristic of the vehicle that every driver should know.
For those who want a more powerful engine, the Togliatti firm "Torgmash" produces VAZ-21102 cars with a forced engine, original transmission and upgrades the chassis. This eight-valve engine develops 110 hp, more than the standard engine with 16 valves. The working volume of this engine is increased to 1.6 liters. This is achieved by installing a crankshaft with a modified crank radius and an increase in piston stroke to 74.8 mm. The pistons themselves and the cylinder head were subjected to additional mechanical processing. The compression ratio of this engine is increased to 11 against 9.8 for the standard one.
The gas distribution mechanism of this engine is also being improved. The camshaft has a different cam profile, which increases the valve lift distance and expands the valve timing. For precise adjustment of the phases, a split gear of the toothed belt is used instead of the usual one. The intake system and the exhaust system have been modernized.

The program in the electronic injection control unit has been changed and the ignition has been adjusted. Moreover, it does not matter which control unit is installed - the BOSCH company or ours, "January 5.1".
The gearbox, which has six gears with a helical limited-slip differential, is being significantly improved. This eliminates gaps between the feet and improves acceleration dynamics.
To increase the rigidity of the body and improve controllability, an adjustable stretcher is installed between the support cups of the front shock absorbers. The company installs hydraulic twin-pipe shock absorbers with gas support.
The customer is offered three wheel options: 13-inch with standard brakes; 14-inch with Italian ventilated disks "Graf"; 15-inch low profile with 195/55-R15 tires; such wheels improve the appearance and handling of the car.
On the road, the car behaves like a sports car, but without dips at low revs. If you want to go for a ride "with the wind", the engine will obey you from idle to the activation of the electronic rev limiter. But if desired, the driver can move with low revs at low speeds.
The Togliatti company managed to create a car with a powerful engine, almost without using expensive foreign components.
Another Togliatti company, Lada-Tool, assembles the most powerful "ten", this model can be recognized by its widely spaced wheels with 195/55-R15 tires. This car has a two-liter power unit from "Opel" — C20XE. It turns out to be a completely different car in the body of the "ten", with a different front and rear suspension and power steering.
The interior also differs from the "ten". It has a leather steering wheel, different seats, an "Opel" gearshift lever with a reverse locking ring, and a speedometer up to 240 km/h in the instrument cluster.
