The cooling system (Fig. 4.17) is liquid, closed type, with forced circulation of coolant, with expansion tank 2, in which a coolant level indicator sensor for the on-board monitoring system is installed.
The centrifugal coolant pump is driven by a toothed belt 17 of the valve timing mechanism.
The electric fan is equipped with a plastic four-blade impeller 13, mounted on the shaft of the electric motor 14, which is switched on and off by the controller engine management systems.
Thermostat 26 with a solid temperature-sensitive filler has a main and additional valve. The main valve starts to open at a coolant temperature of (85±2)°C, the main valve stroke when the coolant temperature reaches 102°C is at least 8 mm.
The radiator is a tubular-plate type, made of aluminum, with plastic tanks 6 and 9. The radiator is two-pass with a partition in the left tank. The coolant is poured through the filler neck of the expansion tank 2, in the plug 1 of the expansion tank there are inlet and outlet valves. The opening pressure of the outlet valve is 110–150 kPa (1.1–1.5 kgf/cm²), the inlet valve is 3–13 kPa (0.03–0.13 kgf/cm²).
The cooling system is filled with Tosol-A40M coolant.
