Noise in gearbox
Worn gear teeth - Replace worn parts.
Worn bearings - Replace worn bearings.
Insufficient oil level - Add oil. If necessary, replace damaged or worn oil seals or seals.
Difficulty shifting gears
Incomplete clutch disengagement - See sec. «Clutch».
Deformation of the linkage of the gearshift control drive - Correct the linkage or replace it.
Loose hinge screws - Tighten screws (see sect. «Gearbox Assembly»).
Wear of synchronizers - Replace synchronizers.
Spontaneous disengagement of gears
Damaged or worn synchronizers on gear and clutch - Replace worn or damaged parts.
Increased vibrations of the power unit on the supports due to cracks or delamination of rubber on the supports - Replace damaged parts.
Lack of shifting due to incorrect adjustment of the gear change drive - Adjust the drive (see sect. «Installing the gearbox»).
Noise («crackling») at the moment of switching gears
Incomplete clutch disengagement - See sec. «Clutch».
Wear of the locking ring of the synchronizer of the engaged gear - Replace the locking ring.
Noise («creak») when starting and moving the car (audible in the body floor area between the seats)
There is no lubrication in the rear support of the jet thrust - Lay grease LSTs-15 or Litol-24 in the rear support of the thrust.
Oil leak
Worn input shaft oil seals, axle shafts or gear selector rod - Replace oil seals.
The fastening of the crankcase or gearbox cover is loose or the gaskets are damaged - Tighten the bolts and nuts, replace the gaskets.
