Raise the engine hood and secure it in this position. From inside the engine compartment, perform the following operations:
- disconnect the wires from the battery, from the starter traction relay and the ground wire from the gearbox housing;
- disconnect the cable from the clutch release fork and the rear cover of the gearbox (see section. "Clutch");
- unscrew the two upper bolts securing the clutch housing to the engine block (one of them secures the top of the starter), disconnect the speedometer drive cable from the drive gear, remove the oil level indicator from the gearbox cover socket.
Working from underneath the vehicle, perform the following operations:
- drain oil from box 2 (figure 80) gears, disconnect the wires from switch 3 of the reverse light, loosen clamp 12 and disconnect rod 13 from the joint of the gear selection rod;
- unscrew the nut securing the jet rod 14 to the gearbox and disconnect the jet rod, and hang rods 13 and 14 on the body;
- disconnect the ball joints 8 of the suspension arms from the steering knuckles, the suspension arms 10 and the tension rods 11 from the subframe 1, disconnect the steering rods from the steering arms;
- using puller 67.7801.9524 or by sharply striking the inner joint housing with a hammer through a drift, knock out the joints from the half-axle gears and move the shafts 9 of the wheel drives to the side. In case of difficulty in disconnecting the wheel drive from the half-axle gear, remove the gearbox assembly with the wheel drive and on the workbench, using the same puller, press out the joint from the half-axle gear;
- unscrew the lower bolt securing the starter and remove it;
- unscrew the side bolts securing the clutch housing to the engine block using a special key for the rear right bolt;
- disconnect bracket 4 of the powertrain suspension from bracket 6 of the longitudinal pipe 5 of the subframe;
- disconnect the left longitudinal pipe 6 (figure 81) subframe from the body, from the subframe crossmember and support 4 of the steering mechanism and remove it;
- supporting the gearbox by the eye with a hoist or other means, move the gearbox assembly with the clutch housing away from the engine to disconnect the input shaft of the gearbox and the driven clutch disc;
- remove the gearbox. In this case, the primary shaft must not rest on the petals of the pressure spring, so as not to damage them.
