Checking the tightness of the brake system (VAZ-11113)

You will need:

• key "15"
• special key for pipe fixing nuts or a "10" key

Warning! Do not allow mineral oils and lubricants to come into contact with the brake hoses. This will cause the rubber to deteriorate.

Attention! Be sure to replace the brake hoses after 5 years of operation. Natural aging of rubber occurs, and the hoses can break during braking. Be sure to replace defective parts of the hydraulic brake system.

If you are unable to fix the leak in the hydraulic brake system yourself, contact a specialist.



1. Check for fluid leaks at the brake pipe and hose connections to the master cylinder, as well as from under the screw plug...





2....in the connections of brake pipes with a tee...



3....in the connections of the brake pipes with the pressure regulator.

4. Carefully inspect the brake pipes. They should not be damaged or heavily corroded.




5. Check the fastening of the pipes in the holders. Loosening or breakage of the holders leads to vibration and, as a result, to breakage of the pipes.



6. Carefully inspect the brake hoses. They should not have cracks, tears or signs of wear. Press the brake pedal all the way down. If there are any bulges on the hose, then the threads of the hose braiding have broken and it must be replaced.



7. Check for fluid leaks at the connections of the brake hoses with the brake pipes and the front wheel brake mechanisms...



8....brake hoses with brake pipes and brake pipes with brake mechanisms of the rear wheels.



9. If a leak is detected, tighten the mounting nuts (use a special key).



10. If there are traces of brake fluid on the brake shield or the inner side of the wheel, then the wheel cylinder is leaking. To eliminate this defect, contact specialists.
