Rear seat arrangement (VAZ-2101)

The cushion and backrest frames consist of thin stamped and wire frames to which springs are attached using metal brackets. To prevent squeaking, the brackets are covered with a PVC film. Soft cushions made of foamed polyurethane foam are installed on the seat cushion frame. The backrest padding is made of coconut palm waste impregnated with rubber latex. The seat cushion is fixed with two spikes on the floor crossbar. The backrest is fixed at the top using two strips that fit into brackets on the rear shelf of the body. At the bottom, the backrest is fixed with two tongues on the wheel arches; the tongues are bent onto the brackets in the lower corners of the backrest frame.

The rear seat of the 2102 and 21021 cars folds down to increase the luggage compartment area. The cushion is attached to the floor crossbar with hinges and folds back on the hinges to the backs of the front seats. Then the seat back is turned on the hinges welded to the rear wheel arches and the cushion is put in place. Metal trays are attached to the reverse sides of the cushion and the back. The stops on the back fit into the brackets of the cushion tray and fix the cushion in this position, and also take the weight of the load on the cushion. The backrest tray mat will be an extension of the luggage compartment mat. In the normal position, the back is held by clamps attached to the sides of the body.
