Removing the instrument cluster
To remove the instrument cluster, you need to bend one (right or left) from the spring holders and push the combination out of the instrument panel socket. It is easier to bend the right holder, which can be reached through the hole for the radio in the instrument panel or through the hole for the left heater blower. The blower can be taken out by hooking it with a wire hook on its grille. If the right holder cannot be bent or it is damaged, then the instrument cluster can be removed by bending the left holder, which can be reached by hand from under the instrument panel with the fuse box removed. After removing the instrument cluster, disconnect the plug blocks of the wire bundle and the speedometer drive cable from it.
Installation of a combination of devices carry out in an order, the return to removal. In this case, special attention must be paid to the installation of the speedometer drive cable. The cable along the entire route must not be intertwined with the wiring harness and with the heater control cables. Cable kinks leading to permanent deformation of its sheath are not allowed. Cable bending radii must be greater than 100 mm.
Disassembly and assembly of the instrument cluster
For disassembly, the welt brackets are bent and carefully removed with glass and frame. Unscrew the screws securing the speedometer scale, and then unscrew the 2 screws securing the speedometer from the back of the instrument cluster and remove it. After that, having unscrewed the nuts for fastening the instruments to the printed circuit board and the screws for fastening the scales, remove the coolant temperature and fuel gauges.
Assembly is carried out in the reverse order of disassembly. After assembly, the lower speedometer fastening screw is sealed.
