The electrical equipment is made according to a single-wire circuit - the negative conclusions of the sources and consumers of electricity are connected to «weight», which acts as a second wire. Vehicle electrical diagrams are presented in subsection 11.1.1 and subsection 11.1.2.
During the production of VAZ-2101 cars, minor changes were made to their scheme. So, in 1977, a reversing light lantern 57 with a switch 26 on the gearbox, a reservoir with a brake fluid level sensor 15 was added. Since 1980, a foot-operated windshield washer with a built-in wiper switch has been installed, and therefore the wiper switching pattern has changed.
Most circuits are turned on by the ignition switch. Always on (regardless of the position of the key in the ignition switch) power supply circuits for sound signals, cigarette lighter, brake light, interior lampshades and a socket for a portable lamp.
The electrical equipment of the car is protected by fuses (see fig. Fuses), installed under the instrument panel on the left side of the steering column. The battery charging, ignition and engine start circuits are not protected by fuses.
Before replacing a blown fuse, it is necessary to find out the cause of its blown and eliminate it. When troubleshooting, it is recommended to look at the circuits that this fuse protects (see table. Circuits protected by fuses).
It is not allowed to install home-made or any other fuses that are not provided for by the design of the car, because. this can lead to overheating of the wires and a fire.
