Checking the tightness of the cylinder head using tool A.60334
1, 2, 4 - plugs; 3 - fixture plate; 5 - flange with water supply fitting
Hydraulic pressure test of the cylinder head cooling jacket
1. Install the parts included in the tool kit A.60334 on the head.
2. Pump water inside the head at a pressure of 0.5 MPa (5 kgf/cm2).
3. Within two minutes, there should be no leakage of water from the head. If cracks are found, the cylinder head must be replaced.
Checking the tightness of the cylinder head with compressed air
1. Install the parts included in the tool kit A.60334 on the cylinder head.
2. Immerse the cylinder head in a bath of water heated to 60–800°C and let the cylinder head warm up for 5 minutes.
3. Apply compressed air to the inside of the cylinder head at a pressure of 0.15–0.2 MPa (1.5–2 kgf/cm2).
4. Within 1–1.5 minutes, air etching from the head should not be observed.
