Suspension arms — checking technical condition (VAZ-2108)

Before checking, all parts are thoroughly washed. Rubber parts are protected from solvents during washing.

Check the condition of the suspension arms, connector and suspension beam reinforcements. If cracks or deformations of the specified beam elements are detected, replace the suspension arms as a whole. Welding and straightening are not permitted, as this may result in a violation of the wheel alignment angles. Use device 67.7824.9519 to check whether the suspension arms are deformed. Make sure that the threaded holes in the flanges of the arms are not damaged and are in good condition. Otherwise, straighten the threads, and if this is not possible, replace the suspension arms.

The condition of the rubber-metal hinges of the suspension arms is checked. They are replaced if there are ruptures and one-sided bulging of the rubber, if the rubber is cut and worn along the outer end of the hinge.
