Oil pump — removal and installation (VAZ-2108)

To remove the pump, remove the front right wheel, raise the car on a lift, turn the steering wheel all the way to the right and drain the oil from the engine crankcase.

Having loosened the generator fastening, remove its belt. Unscrew the bolt from the end of the crankshaft and remove the generator drive pulley. Remove the front protective cover of the toothed belt.

Turn the crankshaft with a key until the marks on the toothed pulleys of the camshaft and crankshaft align with the marks on the housing parts and fix the crankshaft with the parking brake and by engaging one of the gears. Loosen the tension of the toothed belt, remove the belt and the toothed pulley of the crankshaft.

Unscrew the mounting bolts and remove sequentially: clutch housing cover, oil sump with sealing gasket, oil receiver, oil pump. When removing the oil pump, be careful not to damage the gasket.

The installation of the oil pump is performed in the reverse order (see also the section "Replacing the camshaft drive belt").
