Air filter
Dry type air filter, with a thermostat, with a replaceable filter element. The filter body is installed on four carburetor studs, sealed with a rubber gasket and secured with self-locking nuts. The filter element, interchangeable with the filter element of the VAZ-2121 engine, is made of special cardboard with a pre-cleaner. The filter body has an air intake pipe, to which the thermostat is secured with a tightening bolt.
Thermoregulator
The thermostat allows maintaining the temperature of the air entering the air filter within 25-35°C. A cold air intake made of polypropylene for noise reduction is put on the front branch pipe of the thermostat housing. The lower branch pipe of the thermostat is connected by a corrugated hose to the warm air intake, which takes air from the exhaust manifold area. A flap is installed in the thermostat housing, which is hingedly connected to the thermal power element. The flap automatically regulates the air flow into the air filter depending on the temperature of the thermal power element. Some series of cars may have thermostats with manual adjustment of the flap position.
