Fuel lines and fine fuel filter (VAZ-2109)

Fuel lines are made of steel leaded or galvanized tubes. The tubes are connected to the fuel pump, to the tank and to each other by rubber hoses in a fabric braid and are secured with screw clamps. The fuel pump is connected to the carburetor by a rubber hose.

Fuel supply line 8 (see figure 39) has a diameter of 8 mm, drain 7 diameter of 6 mm. A non-separable small-sized check valve is installed on the hoses of the drain pipeline. The required direction of fuel flow is indicated on the valve body by an arrow.

The fuel lines are attached to the body using plastic clamps, which are attached to bolts welded to the body. Eliminating holes for attaching fuel lines increases the corrosion resistance of the body at the attachment points.

In front of the fuel pump, a fine fuel filter 1 is installed on rubber hoses, which is fastened to the hoses with screw clamps. The filter is of a non-separable design, with a paper filter element in a plastic housing. The plastic housing and the cover are welded using ultrasonic welding or high-frequency currents. The fuel purification fineness provided by the filter element is up to 15 microns.
