- 8 mm hex wrench with extension;
- vise with soft grips.
Removing
1. Remove the rear brake cylinder from the shield (see "Rear brake cylinder - removal, installation, replacement").
2. With an 8 mm hex wrench, through the hole in the hub flange, unscrew the four bolts securing its axis.
3. Passing the handbrake cable through the hole in the support shield, remove the axle assembly with the hub and support shield.
4. We fix the support shield in a vice with soft jaws. Using a large Phillips screwdriver with a knob, unscrew the two screws securing the support shield.
5. Remove the rear brake shield from the hub axle.
Installation
1. We assemble in the reverse order.
2. We remove air from the hydraulic drive system (see "Bleeding the brakes (brake system), brake fluid change").
3. To self-adjust the gaps between the brake pads and the drum, after installing it, press the brake pedal several times.
4. Adjust the handbrake (see "Checking and adjusting the hand brake").
