Removing
1. We prepare the car for repair work (see paragraphs 2b and 4 "Preparing the car for maintenance and repair").
2. Remove the left side of the heat-insulating noise insulation of the engine compartment (see items 3-7 "Windshield wiper - removal and installation").
3. With a rubber bulb or syringe, we select the brake fluid from the reservoir of the main brake cylinder.
4. Using a special 10 mm wrench, we loosen the fittings of the four brake pipes of the main brake cylinder.
5. Using a 10 mm open-end wrench, completely unscrew the fittings of the four brake pipes.
6. Carefully, without bending the brake pipes too much, we remove them from the main brake cylinder.
7. Using a 17 mm wrench, unscrew the two nuts securing the master brake cylinder to the body of the vacuum brake booster.
8. Remove the main brake cylinder, complete with reservoir, from the vacuum booster.
9. We clamp the main brake cylinder in a vice. Having tilted the brake reservoir to the side, we remove its pipes from the rubber sealing bushings.
Installation
1. Before installing the brake reservoir on the new brake master cylinder, wet the reservoir pipes with clean brake fluid.
2. We assemble and install the main brake cylinder on the car in the reverse order.
3. We make the final tightening of the connecting fittings of the brake pipes with a special wrench.
4. We fill the brake reservoir of the main brake cylinder with fresh brake fluid, and pump the brakes on the car (see "Bleeding the brakes (brake system), brake fluid change").
5. We check the absence of leakage of brake fluid from under the fittings of the brake pipes.
