Front Timing Belt Cover — Removal and Installation (VAZ-2110)

Note. The work on removing and installing the front timing belt cover is shown on the VAZ 21124 (1.6i) injection engine. On the VAZ 2112 (1.5i) engine, the front timing belt cover is not divided into upper and lower parts.

Removal

1. Preparing the vehicle for work (see point 2a "Preparing a car for maintenance and repair").

2. For convenience, remove the adsorber and move it to the side without disconnecting the hoses from it, remove its mounting bracket (see items 4-6 "Adsorber - removal, installation, replacement").

3. Using a 5 mm Allen key, unscrew the five bolts securing the upper part of the front cover.



4. Remove the top part of the lid.



5. Using the same key, unscrew the two bolts securing the lower part of the cover.





6. Remove the lower part of the cover.

Installation

We install all removed parts on the car in reverse order.
