Removal
1. Remove the crankshaft toothed pulley and its key (see "Crankshaft toothed pulley - removal, installation, replacement").
Caution: When removing the oil seal, be careful not to scratch the running surface of the crankshaft.
2. Using thin curved pliers, pry the front crankshaft oil seal out of its seat.

Installation
1. Apply clean engine oil to the working edge of the new oil seal and press it in through a mandrel or a piece of pipe of a suitable diameter so that the outer edge of the oil seal is flush with the edge of its seat.

2. Install the crankshaft toothed pulley on the vehicle in the reverse order of disassembly (see "Crankshaft toothed pulley - removal, installation, replacement").
3. Install all removed parts on the vehicle in the reverse order of removal.
