Fuel module of the gasoline pump of the engine 21124 (1.6i) — cleaning the mesh filter (VAZ-2110)

Note: One of the reasons for low fuel pressure in the fuel rail may be a dirty fuel pump mesh filter.

Recommendation: If you suspect a faulty pressure regulator, it must be replaced.

Removal

1. Remove the fuel module (see "Fuel module of the gasoline pump of the engine 21124 (1.6i) - removal, installation, replacement").

2. Remove the fuel level indicator sensor (see "Fuel module engine 21124 (1.6i) - replacement of fuel level indicator sensor").

3. Using thin-nosed pliers, remove the retaining ring from the guide cover.

Warning: Use a marker to mark the guide on which the spring is mounted. The spring must not be moved to another guide.

4. Having removed the guide covers from the fuel module housing, remove the spring.



5. Disconnect the three fasteners.





6. Remove the fuel pump assembly with the mesh filter from the housing.



7. Remove dirt deposits from the fuel pump housing and wash the housing in clean gasoline.

8. Wash the mesh filter in nitro paint solvent and blow it out with compressed air (from a compressor or foot pump).

Recommendation: If the mesh filter is very dirty and cannot be cleaned, replace it or the fuel pump fuel module assembly (see "Fuel module engine 21124 (1.6i) - removal, installation, replacement").

Installation

We assemble and install the fuel pump module and all removed parts on the vehicle in the reverse order of disassembly.
