Recommendation. Removing the air filter may be necessary when repairing the engine and its systems. Therefore, in many cases it is advisable to remove the air filter together with the mass air flow sensor and the air supply hose to the throttle valve.
Removal
1. Preparing the vehicle for work (see point 2a "Preparing a car for maintenance and repair").
2. Remove the wire terminal from the negative terminal of the battery (see point 2 "Battery - Removal and Installation").
3. Loosen the clamps (1 and 2) securing the crankcase ventilation hose and the air supply hose to the throttle valve. Disconnect the wire connector (3) from the MAF (mass air flow sensor).
4. Using a 10 mm socket wrench with an extension, unscrew the bolt securing the air intake to the body panel.
5. Remove the base of three rubber struts: two - the front air filter mount from the body panel holes...
...and one rear mount - from the hole in the bracket attached to the battery shelf.
6. Remove the air filter housing together with the mass air flow sensor, the air supply hose to the throttle valve and the air intake.
7. All three air filter posts remain inserted into the air filter housing holes. Remove the rubber posts from the air filter housing holes. Replace damaged posts.
Installation
1. Using a wide-blade slotted screwdriver, insert three rubber struts into the holes in the body panel and bracket.
2. After wetting the rubber struts with soapy water, install the air filter housing on them so that all three struts fit into the holes intended for them.
3. Pressing the housing down, use pliers to pull the struts up one by one until the housing is fixed in the annular groove of the strut.

4. Connect the air supply hose to the throttle valve pipe and the crankcase ventilation hose.
5. Connect the wiring harness connector to the mass air flow sensor.
6. Attach the air intake to the body panel with a bolt.
Warning: Make sure the air intake hose does not touch the starter terminal.
7. Connect the wire terminal to the battery terminal.
