Recommendation. Removal of the air filter may be required when repairing the engine and its systems. Therefore, in many cases it is advisable to remove the air filter together with the mass air flow sensor and the air supply hose to the throttle valve.
Removing
1. We prepare the car for work (see item 2a "Preparing the car for maintenance and repair").
2. Remove the wire terminal from the negative terminal of the battery (see point 2 "Battery - removal and installation").
3. Loosen the tightening of the clamps (1 and 2), fastening the hose of the crankcase ventilation system and the air supply hose to the throttle valve. Disconnect the wire connector (3) from DMRV (mass air flow sensor).
4. Using a 10 mm socket wrench with an extension, unscrew the bolt securing the air intake to the body panel.
5. We remove the base of three rubber struts: two - the front mounting of the air filter from the holes in the body panel...
... and one rear mount - from the bracket hole attached to the battery shelf.
6. Remove the air filter housing together with the mass air flow sensor, the air supply hose to the throttle valve and the air intake.
7. All three air filter posts remain inserted into the holes in the air filter housing. We remove the rubber struts from the holes in the air filter housing. Replace damaged racks.
Installation
1. With a slotted screwdriver with a wide blade, we fill three rubber posts into the holes in the body panel and bracket.
2. After moistening the rubber struts with soapy water, install the air filter housing on them so that all three struts fit into the holes intended for them.
3. Pressing the body down, with pliers, one by one, pull the racks up until the body is fixed in the annular groove of the rack.
4. We connect the air supply hose to the throttle valve and the crankcase ventilation hose.
5. Connect the wiring harness connector to the mass air flow sensor.
6. Fasten the air intake to the body panel with a bolt.
Warning. Make sure the air intake hose is not touching the starter outlet.
7. Connect the wire terminal to the battery terminal.
