Warnings:
- Disconnect the battery only when necessary. Disconnecting the battery deletes fault codes and all settings generated by the engine management system from the computer's memory.
- When removing the battery, always disconnect the negative terminal first, and when connecting the battery, connect the positive terminal first.
- Never disconnect the power wires from the battery terminals while the engine is running. The voltage spikes that result from this will damage the electronic equipment.
- If the car is equipped with a security system and central locking, never leave the ignition key in the car when disconnecting the battery. In some security systems, spontaneous locking of car door locks is possible when the battery is connected.
Removing
1. We prepare the car for repair work.
2. Using a 10 mm spanner, loosen the nut that secures the wire terminal on the negative terminal of the battery. Remove the terminal from the battery terminal.
3. Remove the protective rubber boot from the positive battery terminal.
4. Using a 10 mm spanner, loosen the nut securing the wire terminal to the positive terminal of the battery and remove the terminal from the battery terminal.
5. With a 13 mm socket wrench, unscrew the two nuts of the upper battery mount, remove the clamping bar and both mounting studs.
6. With a 13 mm socket wrench with an extension and a knob, unscrew the nut of the lower battery mount and remove the clamping bar.
7. Remove the battery from the car.
Installation
Install the battery in the car in reverse order.
Warning. The battery terminals are different, the diameter of the positive terminal is larger. Reverse polarity when connecting the battery will damage the vehicle's electronic equipment.
