Warning: The fuel pressure in the fuel line of the engine fuel system is more than 3 bar.
Before working on fuel supply components, this pressure must be released (see "Fuel line - pressure relief") even if the vehicle has not been used for a long time. Note that after the pressure is released, a small amount of fuel remains in the fuel line.
Gasoline is a highly flammable liquid and its vapors are explosive. Therefore, when performing repair work related to the engine fuel system, it is necessary to strictly observe fire safety regulations.
- Do not perform work near open flames or in areas where sparks are flying.
- Equip the work area with a fire extinguisher and/or other fire extinguishing equipment.
- De-energize electrical equipment that may cause sparks during operation.
- Do not smoke in the work area and prohibit others from smoking.
- When performing work, try to avoid fuel leaks. Immediately cover spilled fuel with sand and sawdust, remove the resulting mixture and ventilate the room.
- If there are gasoline vapors in the room, do not connect the terminals to the battery terminals, and do not turn on or off other electrical equipment to avoid sparking at the switch contacts.
- Do not store rags soaked in gasoline or other flammable or lubricating liquids.
During work, do not forget about safety precautions.
After completing the work, make sure that all fuel line connections are tight.
