We dismantle the engine intake manifold to check the injectors when it is necessary to remove the fuel rail, as well as in other cases when repairing the engine.
Removal
1. Remove the throttle assembly from the vehicle.
Recommendation: The throttle body can be removed without disconnecting the hoses. Simply disconnect it from the intake manifold flange.
2. Disconnect the throttle cable from the intake manifold (see points 5 and 6 "Throttle - Drive Cable Replacement").
3. Disconnect the wiring harness connectors from the ignition coils (see points 2 and 3 "Ignition coils of the VAZ 21124 engine (1.6i) - checking and replacement").
4. Disconnect the wiring harness connector from the crankshaft position sensor (see item. "Crankshaft position sensor (CPS) - removal, inspection, replacement").
5. Disconnect the wiring harness connector from the camshaft position sensor (see point 2 "Camshaft position sensor (CPS) - removal, inspection, replacement").
6. Disconnect the wiring harness connector from the purge valve of the adsorber.
7. Remove the wiring harness from the intake manifold and move it to the side.
8. After loosening the clamp, remove the brake booster hose from the intake manifold.
9. Using an 8 mm wrench, loosen the clamp securing the engine crankcase ventilation hose.
10. Remove the hose from the cylinder head cover pipe.
11. Using a Phillips screwdriver, unscrew the screw (1) securing the oil level indicator guide tube.
12. Remove the guide tube together with the oil level indicator dipstick from the cylinder block and remove it.

13. Using a 10 mm wrench, unscrew the two nuts (1) securing the intake module to the cylinder head cover and the three bolts (2) securing the ignition coils of the first, second and third cylinders.
14. Remove the ignition coils of the first, second and third cylinders (see items 2-4, 8 and 9 "Ignition coils of the VAZ 21124 engine (1.6i) - checking and replacement").
15. Using a 13 mm socket wrench, unscrew the three nuts (2) and two bolts (1) securing the intake manifold to the side surface of the cylinder head.
16. Move it forward and remove the intake manifold.
Installation
We install the intake manifold and all removed parts on the car in the reverse order. We replace damaged intake manifold sealing rings (see photo "Intake manifold of the VAZ 21124 engine (l,6i)" pos. 1 and 3).
