The need to replace the parking brake cables arises if the cables, as a result of corrosion, have lost the ability to move in the casing, have stretched out significantly, or have broken threads.
Advice: When replacing one of the cables, we also replace the other cable
Removal
1. Prepare the car for work (see "Preparing the car for maintenance and repair").
2. Remove the brake drums (see "Brake drum - removal and installation").
3. Remove the suspension cushions from the additional muffler (see "Additional muffler suspension cushions - replacement").
4. Loosen the lock nut of the parking brake lever travel adjusting nut (see "Parking brake - adjustment").
Warning! The left rear wheel cable goes through the right hole in the bracket, and the right wheel cable goes through the left hole

5. With a deep-head socket wrench by 13 mm and using the cardan joint, we unscrew the lock nut and the adjusting nut and remove them from the rod.

6. Remove the cable equalizer from the adjusting rod.

7. Disconnect the cable ends from the equalizer.
8. At the brake mechanism of the left rear wheel, using a large slotted screwdriver, move the rear shoe lever forward and remove the cable eyelet from the hook of the spacer lever.

9. With a spanner by 10 mm we unscrew the nut of the bracket that attaches the cable to the rear axle lever.

10. Remove the front end of the cable from the hole in the body bracket.

11. Remove the cable from the bracket that attaches it to the bottom of the body.

12. Remove the cable from the rear suspension beam bracket.

13. Remove the cable from the hole in the rear brake mechanism support shield and remove it from the vehicle.

We remove the second cable in the same way.
Installation
We install the cable in the reverse order.
