Advice. A faulty fuel level indicator sensor is most often associated with wear of the contact part of its rheostat. You can verify this by measuring its electrical resistance with an ohmmeter while smoothly moving the lever with the float from one extreme position to another. A faulty sensor should be replaced.
Removal
1. Remove the fuel module (see "Fuel module of engines 2111 and 2112 (1.5i) - removal and installation").
2. Press the retainer (1) of the wiring block (3) and disconnect the block from the terminals (2) on the fuel module cover.

3. Release the wire connector retainer (1) and disconnect the connector from the fuel pump (2). Using a Phillips screwdriver, unscrew the two screws (3) securing the fuel level indicator sensor.

4. Remove the pointer.

Installation
We install the new fuel level indicator sensor in the reverse order.
