Recommendation: You can check the operation of the fuel pressure regulator without removing it from the car (see "Fuel rail - checking operating pressure"). We replace the faulty pressure regulator.
Removal
1. Remove the fuel module (see "Fuel module of engines 21114 and 21124 (1.6i) - removal and installation").
2. Lift the fuel module cover and disconnect the wire tip from the fuel pressure regulator (see above, "Fuel module of engines 21114 and 21124 (1.6i) - replacement of fuel level indicator sensor").
3. Using a slotted screwdriver, pry up and remove the spring retainer of the pressure regulator.
4. Remove the regulator from the fuel module cover.
Installation
We install a new fuel pressure regulator in the reverse order, having first applied a thin layer of engine oil to the sealing rings.
