Disassembly and assembly of suspension arms (VAZ-1111)

If the rubber-metal hinges of the levers are worn, damaged or destroyed, they are pressed out. A special mandrel is used for pressing out and pressing in 1 (figure 107) ∅ 30 mm, a press and a guide bushing, the inner diameter of which is 40 mm. It is installed under the 3rd suspension arm.



Before pressing in the rubber-metal hinge 2, generously lubricate with a 30-35% aqueous solution of soap liquid¹ or with IGP-30 oil the hinge socket and its outer surface, while observing precautions to prevent damage to the hinge during pressing (the appearance of burrs, cracks or tears in the rubber). After pressing the joint, make sure that it is symmetrically located in the socket and has no areas pulled into the socket or bulging out of it. After pressing the joint and before starting to operate the car, it is necessary to allow a time delay of at least 24 hours.

Pressing out worn, damaged or destroyed rubber hinges of the stabilizer struts is carried out on a press using the specified mandrels in the same manner.
