Before you start working
Loosen the parking brake cable tensioner nut (see subsection 3.37.).
Remove the wheel.
As the pads wear out, periodically move them towards the drum.
[The information is published on the website: VAZbook.ru]

1. Remove the rubber plug from the hole in the drum.

2. Periodically turning the drum, use a screwdriver to turn the adjusting nut of the spacer bar until the shoes touch the brake drum (the left wheel is shown, the nut of the right wheel must be turned in the other direction).

3. Turn the adjusting nut back until the shoes stop touching the drum. This ensures a minimum gap between the shoes and the drum (the left wheel is shown, the nut of the right wheel must be turned in the other direction).

4. Install the rubber plug and adjust the tension of the parking brake cables (see subsection 3.37.).

5. To check the correctness of the adjustment, drive the car 3-4 km without using the brakes. After stopping, make sure (by touch) that the drums do not heat up. If the drums heat up strongly, repeat the adjustment.
