On VAZ-2102 cars, a PK-142 ceiling lamp is additionally installed in the rear upper part of the cabin. The plafonds are held in the sockets by two springs 6. The PK-140 and PK-140A plafonds differ only in that the PK-140A has a chrome rim 5. The AC12-5 lamp is installed in the plafonds.
Plafond PK-140 has a body 4 made of transparent plastic and a plastic cover 13. Springs 6 for fastening the canopy, plugs 7, 8, 12 and lamp fastening contacts are clamped between the body and the cover. Voltage is supplied to plug 7. Plug 12 is connected directly to ground, and plug 8 is connected through switches in the door pillars. When the doors are opened, these switches close plug 8 to ground and the lamp lights up.
Plafond PK-142 is smaller, the shape of the switch 1 and the fact that it does not have a cover 13 and all plugs, springs and contacts are riveted to the body 4.
Engine compartment lamps
On VAZ-2101 and VAZ-2102 cars, a lamp of the PD-140 type is installed, and on the VAZ-2103 - of the PD-526 type.
The plastic housing of the PD-140 engine compartment lamp consists of two parts: upper 19 and lower 15. Two spring contacts are installed in the housing: fixed, connected to plug 7, and movable 16, connected to bolt 18. Contact 16 is pressed against the lamp base, closing it with vehicle weight. When the button is pressed 20 (when the hood is down) contact 16 is pressed by the button from the lamp base and the lamp turns off. The lower part of the button spring rests against the washer 17, sandwiched between the upper and lower parts of the housing.
The PD-526 lamp has a one-piece plastic housing 21, on the flange of which a plastic screen 24 is put on. A spring contact is put on the bolt 18, the head of which is embedded in the housing, connecting the central contact of the lamp 14 to the vehicle ground. Inside the button there is a return spring, the lower part of which rests on pin 23 pressed into the housing. A contact washer 22 is installed on the lower part of the button, closing the plug 7 with the lamp base.
Glove box lamp
Lamp type LV-211. It is installed on all vehicles «Zhiguli» in the left upper part of the glove box and fastened with a screw to the instrument panel (at VAZ-2101 and VAZ-2102) or to a bracket riveted to the instrument panel (at VAZ-2103).
The lamp has a mounting bracket 25, to which a guide 26 of the button 20 is welded. A housing 21 is riveted to the end of the plastic button 20, into which a cartridge 29 with a miniature light bulb AMH12-3 is inserted.
Voltage is supplied to the light bulb through plug 7, and its base, through cartridge 29, housing 21 and guide 26, is connected to a ground wire, the tip of which is clamped with a lamp fastening screw. The closed lid of the glove box, pressing the button, presses the housing 21 from the guide 26, breaks the ground connection circuit and the light goes out.
License plate lights
To illuminate the license plate on VAZ-2101 and VAZ-2103 cars, a lamp of the FP-141 type is used, and on VAZ-2102 cars - of the FP-143 type.
Lantern FP-141 is installed on the bumper and fastened with a pin 36. In addition, the lantern facing has two mounting cylindrical protrusions 32, which fit into the corresponding holes in the bumper. A plastic gasket is installed under the lamp. The body of the lantern is made of plastic and has two necks, into which cartridges 29 with A12-5 lamps are inserted. A plastic holder 28 of the plug and spring contact is rolled in the lamp socket.
From above, the body of the FP-141 flashlight is closed with a plastic transparent colorless diffuser 33 and a chrome-plated metal lining. The cladding, diffuser and body of the lantern are pulled together with a pin 36. A rubber gasket 35 is installed between the diffuser and the body. The lamp holders are connected to each other and through a pin 36 with a mass of a brass contact jumper 37.
The FP-143 lamp is mounted on the rear door of the VAZ-2102 car and is attached to it with two bolts. A plastic gasket is installed under the lamp. The body 31 of the lamp is cast from zinc alloy and is closed from above with a plastic metallized or chrome-plated metal cover 38. The cover is attached to the body with two screws 40. In the middle part of the body there is a socket for one A12-5 lamp, to which a plastic holder of the plug and spring contact is riveted which the lamp holder 29 is fixed. From below, the socket is closed with a lid - a screen 44 and a colorless transparent plastic diffuser 33. A rubber gasket 41 is installed between the diffuser and the housing. The screen cover creates a narrow beam of light directed at the license plate.
