Ceiling lamps

To illuminate the interior of VAZ-2101 and VAZ-2102 cars, two PK-140 lampshades are installed in the door pillars, and two PK-140A lampshades are installed on the VAZ-2103. On VAZ-2102 cars, an additional PK-142 lampshade is installed in the rear upper part of the interior. The lampshades are held in place by two springs 6. The PK-140 and PK-140A lampshades differ only in that the PK-140A has a chrome rim 5. An AC12-5 lamp is installed in the lampshades.

The PK-140 lampshade has a housing 4 made of transparent plastic and a plastic cover 13. Between the housing and the cover, the lampshade mounting springs 6, plugs 7, 8, 12 and the lamp mounting contacts are clamped. Voltage is supplied to plug 7. Plug 12 is connected directly to ground, and plug 8 is connected via switches in the door pillars. When the doors are opened, these switches close plug 8 to ground and the lamp lights up.

The PK-142 lampshade is distinguished by its smaller dimensions, the shape of the switch 1 and the fact that it does not have a cover 13 and all plugs, springs and contacts are riveted to the body 4.

Underhood lamps

On VAZ-2101 and VAZ-2102 vehicles, a PD-140 type lamp is installed, and on VAZ-2103, a PD-526 type lamp is installed.

The plastic housing of the PD-140 underhood lamp consists of two parts: the upper 19 and the lower 15. Two spring contacts are installed in the housing: a fixed one connected to the plug 7, and a movable one 16 connected to the bolt 18. Contact 16 is pressed against the lamp base, closing it with the vehicle ground. When button 20 is pressed (when the hood is down) contact 16 is pressed away from the lamp base by the button and the lamp is switched off. The lower part of the button spring rests against washer 17, clamped between the upper and lower parts of the housing.

The PD-526 lamp has a solid plastic housing 21, onto the flange of which a plastic screen 24 is placed. A spring contact is placed on a bolt 18, the head of which is cast into the housing, connecting the central contact of the lamp 14 with the vehicle ground. Inside the button there is a return spring, the lower part of which rests on a pin 23 pressed into the housing. A contact washer 22 is installed on the lower part of the button, closing the plug 7 with the lamp base.

Glove compartment light

Lamp type LV-211. It is installed on all Zhiguli cars in the upper left part of the glove compartment and is attached with a screw to the instrument panel (for VAZ-2101 and VAZ-2102) or to a bracket riveted to the instrument panel (at VAZ-2103).

The lamp has a mounting bracket 25, to which a guide 26 of the button 20 is welded. A housing 21 is riveted to the end of the plastic button 20, into which a socket 29 with a miniature AMN12-3 bulb is inserted.

Voltage is supplied to the bulb via plug 7, and its base via socket 29, housing 21 and guide 26 is connected to the ground wire, the tip of which is clamped by the screw that secures the bulb. The closed lid of the glove compartment, pressing the button, pushes housing 21 away from guide 26, breaks the connection circuit with the ground and the bulb goes out.

License plate lights

To illuminate the license plate on VAZ-2101 and VAZ-2103 vehicles, the FP-141 type lamp is used, and on VAZ-2102 vehicles, the FP-143 type lamp is used.

The FP-141 lamp is installed on the bumper and secured with a stud 36. In addition, the lamp trim has two mounting cylindrical projections 32, which enter the corresponding holes in the bumper. A plastic gasket is installed under the lamp. The lamp body is made of plastic and has two necks into which sockets 29 with A12-5 lamps are inserted. A plastic holder 28 of the plug and spring contact is crimped in the lamp socket.

The top of the FP-141 flashlight housing is covered with a transparent plastic colorless diffuser 33 and a metal chrome-plated lining. The lining, diffuser and flashlight housing are pulled together with a pin 36. A rubber gasket 35 is installed between the diffuser and the housing. The lamp sockets are connected to each other and through pin 36 to the mass with a brass contact jumper 37.

The FP-143 lamp is installed on the rear door of the VAZ-2102 car and is attached to it with two bolts. A plastic gasket is installed under the lamp. The housing 31 of the lamp is cast from zinc alloy and is closed on top with a plastic metallized or metal chromed cover 38. The cover is attached to the housing with two screws 40. In the middle part of the housing there is a socket for one A12-5 lamp, to which a plastic holder of the plug and spring contact is riveted and in which the lamp socket 29 is fixed. From below, the socket is closed with a cover - screen 44 and a plastic colorless transparent diffuser 33. A rubber gasket 41 is installed between the diffuser and the housing. The cover-screen creates a narrow beam of light directed at the license plate.

Reversing light

The FP-144 reversing light turns on automatically when the reverse gear is engaged in the gearbox, if the external lighting is on. The light is used only on VAZ-2103 cars and is attached with two 47 screws to the outer panel of the rear of the car under the bumper, and the screws are screwed into plastic plates that are put on the edges of the socket for the light. The light uses an A12-21-3 lamp.

The body of the 31 flashlight is plastic, with metallization of all surfaces or only the internal reflective surface. There are two ventilation holes in the lower part of the body.

A metal heat shield 45 is installed above the lamp. A lamp socket 29 and a plastic holder 28 for the plugs and contacts are riveted to the housing. The diffuser 33 is pulled to the housing 31 by two screws 47 for fastening the flashlight. A rubber gasket 35 is installed between the diffuser and the housing.

Portable lamp

All Zhiguli cars use a portable lamp of the PD-525 type. It has a plastic housing 31, in which a socket for installing the A12-21-3 lamp is pressed.

A two-wire cable 5 m long is connected to the cartridge. At the end of the cable there is a plug. In the plastic housing 49 of the plug there are contact plates with a central contact 51 and an external spring contact 50 of the mass.

Plug socket

All Zhiguli cars are equipped with a PS-500 socket. It is designed to connect a portable lamp and is attached with nut 53 to the clutch and brake pedal bracket to the right of the steering shaft. The socket has a plastic housing 31 with a metal collar 52, which is connected to the car's ground. Plugs 55 and a contact plate 54 with a spring are riveted to the housing.

Trunk lamp

To illuminate the trunk of VAZ-2101 and VAZ-2103 cars, a lamp of the LB-218 type is installed. It is attached with a screw to the shelf of the rear of the car, and the screw is screwed from the side of the passenger compartment into the hole 58 of the base 56.

Inside the diffuser there is a socket 57 with a plug to which voltage is supplied. A bulb A12-4 is inserted into the socket. The central contact of the bulb rests against base 56.
