Features of the fuel system (VAZ-21011)

The fuel system includes devices for supplying fuel, air and exhaust gases.

Fuel tank 8 (see fig. Fuel tank and fuel lines) welded, stamped from leaded steel sheet, painted with black enamel. The tank is installed in the trunk on the right side on a rubber gasket and is attached to the body with two clamps 10, tightened with a bolt.

Fuel pump 1 is a diaphragm type, mounted on the left side of the cylinder block and is driven by a pusher from the eccentric of the oil pump drive shaft and ignition distributor. There is a manual fuel pumping lever for filling the system with fuel.

The dry type air filter consists of a housing 5 (see Fig. Air filter), cover 2 and filter element. The air filter has two inlet pipes: air intake pipe 4 for summer operation and a pipe for intake of air heated from the exhaust manifold in winter. To switch the air intake, cover 2 of the filter is placed with the corresponding mark on the cover opposite the arrow 3.
