The left wheel suspension assembly mounted on a workbench for disassembly
1 – nuts for fastening the steering knuckle arm, caliper mounting bracket and protective cover to the steering knuckle; 2 – caliper mounting bracket; 3 – brake disc protective cover
Disconnecting the upper control arm
1 – steering knuckle; 2 – ball joint pin; 3 – device 67.7801.9513; 4 – bolt
Disconnecting the lower arm
1 – steering knuckle; 2 – stop; 3 – device 67.7801.9513; 4 – bolt; 5 – ball joint pin
If repairing the suspension requires complete disassembly of its components, then begin this directly on the car, before compressing the suspension spring.
1. Bend back the tabs of the locking plates, unscrew the caliper mounting bolts, moving it to the side, and secure the caliper so that it does not hang on the hoses.

2. Remove the front wheel hub cap using puller 67.7801.9514.

3. Loosen the adjusting nut of the hub bearings, remove the washer and use the puller A.40005/1/9B 2 to remove the hub 1 complete with bearings, seal and brake disc; remove the inner bearing inner race from the steering knuckle.
4. Carry out further disassembly after removing the suspension unit from the vehicle, securing it on a workbench.
5. Unscrew all nuts 1 (see Fig. Left wheel suspension assembly mounted on a workbench for disassembly), remove the locking plates and steering knuckle arm; this releases the brake caliper mounting bracket 2 and the brake disc protective cover 3.
6. Loosen the pin mounting nut 2 (see Fig. Disconnecting the upper arm) upper hinge, install fixture 3 (puller 67.7801.9513) between the ball joint pins and, tightening the puller bolt, press out the upper joint pin from the steering knuckle 1.
7. Loosen the nut securing the lower hinge pin and install it between the hinge pins and the stop 2 (see Fig. Disconnecting the lower arm) puller 67.7801.9513; by tightening the puller bolt, press out the pin and remove the lower arm from the knuckle.
8. When repairing the front wheel hub, use the following mandrels: 67.7853. 9526; 67.8953.9527; 67.7853.9525; A.74155.
9. Assembly of the front suspension units is carried out in the reverse order of disassembly.
10. Lubricate the front wheel hub bearings with LITOL-24 grease as indicated in subsection 6.1.5.
11. Before assembling the ball joints of the suspension arms, add SHRB-4 or LITOL-24 grease to the protective covers in an amount equal to 1/3 of the cover's volume in a free state.
12. Tighten the nuts and bolts for fastening the suspension units and parts to the torques specified in subsection 3.4.
13. After assembling the suspension and installing it on the car, you should "break in" the suspension elements by driving for 15-20 kilometers, after which you should check and, if necessary, adjust the wheel alignment angles.
