Disconnect the windshield washer tube from the tee on the hood and the electrical wires from the underhood ramp. Remove the electrical wires from the hood. Holding the hood, unscrew the four bolts 14 (see vol. 163) fastening the hinges to the hood and remove it from the body.
When installing the hood, before finally tightening the mounting bolts, adjust its position so that it is located in the body opening with the same gaps with the wings. If, due to the enlarged holes in the hood for the mounting bolts, it is not possible to find the desired position, adjust the position of the hood in the opening by bending the hinges 2.
In cases of unreliable locking of the hood by the lock, loosen the lock nut of the pin 3 and, by moving the pin due to the enlarged hole in the hood, achieve its alignment with the lock socket. To ensure reliable locking of the pin by spring 21, as well as to eliminate the protrusion or recession of the front surface of the hood, rotate the pin to find its desired position. Upon completion of the adjustment, tighten the lock nut of the pin.
